Asaemon Yoshihiro Yamada is engaged to sever the limbs and organs of Manji and Dewanosuke so they can be exchanged. After eight days, it appears that Dewanosuke is acquiring some level of immortality, and Kagimura grants Burando a stay of execution. However, Kagimura demands a final test and runs his sword through Dewanosuke's heart. Dewanosuke, dies, but Kagimura insists that Burando commence the immortality experiment with another prisoner.
